Meaning ‘harvest’ in Danish, the new release is a combination of rye and single malt, designed as an introduction to the Stauning portfolio.
Alex Munch, one of Stauning’s founders, said: “Høst is an important launch for the continued growth of our distillery. As our new initial introduction to the Stauning style, it encompasses the rye-forward Danish design that has made us famous. By championing the terroir of our raw materials, we’re able to create a profile that adds a new dimension to our range, perfect for new drinkers and existing fans alike.”
The whisky is aged in first-fill bourbon and charred new American white oak casks before being finished in first-fill port barrique casks.
Høst is available to purchase from Master of Malt, The Whisky Exchange and Selfridges for an rrp of £45.
