Diamond Jubliee port

The port house, Symington, is offering a 1952 tawny port to celebrate and commemorate the diamond jubilee of the British queen’s ascent to the throne of the United Kingdom.

A 170-year old bottle of champagne salvaged from a shipwreck in the Baltic Sea has fetched €30,000 at auction.

It’s ‘up periscope’ for Irish distilleries

I know how wierd this might seem but I often think that the opening of a new distillery is like the launch of a new submarine. It is unveiled in all its pristine glory in a blaze of publicity and fanfare.
