Friarwood wine and spirits merchant has announced it has gained exclusive rights to import Italian gin Seatrus in the UK.

Altamura Distilleries has announced its entry into the Indian market through its partnership with Amistad Spirits, an import and distribution house based in Delhi.

Trois Frères Distillery has announced a new partnership with Kirsch Import to distribute its Takamaka rums across Germany as of this month. 

SommCon, the San Diego, California-based conference for wine, beer and spirits education has announced the launch of its newly expanded trade show for import, distribution and on and off-premise alcohol beverage buyers. 

Spiribam, the division that oversees the spirits activities of the GBH family group, has signed a distribution partnership with Cognac Hardy in the US.

Welsh whisky producer Penderyn is ending its distribution arrangement with Halewood and setting up its own in-house supply business.

The market for whisky in India is huge, but local brands have the lion’s share due to the exorbitant import tariffs. Christian Davis reports

SAB Miller's Australian subsidiary, Foster's Group will no longer be allowed to import and distribute Mexican beer Corona Extra. Foster's has been informed by Corona's parent company Grupo Modelo that it intends to terminate Foster's licence to import and distribute Corona Extra in Australia with immediate effect. The brand's distribution will go to Lion Nathan. 

Central European Distribution Corporation (CEDC) has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with La Martiniquaise to distribute Label 5 whisky in Russia. La Martiniquaise announced the tie-up in December 2011.

US: Diageo has launched a Swedish vodka in the US market.
