Buffalo Trace launches 2011 Antique Collection whiskeys

05 October, 2011

UK: Hi-Spirits is set to launch the Buffalo Trace Distillery 2011 Antique Collection this month.

UK distributor Hi-Spirits has a limited allocation of the five whiskeys and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The UK is the biggest market for Buffalo Trace outside of the US but distributors in Asia and Europe can apply for allocations.

The Buffalo Trace Distillery 2011 Antique Collection includes:

Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old – 45%abv

Eagle Rare 17 Year Old – 45%abv

George T. Stagg – 71.3%abv

William Larue Weller – 66.75%abv

Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye – 64.3%abv

All bottles are 75cl and prices range from £90- £120.

Master distiller Harlen Wheatley said: “It will be hard to top last year’s batch of awards.

“But we think this year’s collection has just as much to offer. I’m anxious to hear if everyone else agrees.”

Jeremy Hill, chairman of Hi-Spirits, said: “There’s always strong demand for the UK allocations of the Antique Collection from top-end whiskey bars, as well as specialist off-trade retailers. Once the whiskeys start to win awards, orders increase and supplies become very scarce.”

The Antique Collection was introduced over ten years ago.
