Ginebra San Miguel is world's biggest gin brand

16 June, 2017

Drinks International has announced Ginebra San Miguel as the world’s top-selling gin brand according to its Millionaires’ Club 2017.

The gin brand, owned by San Miguel, sold 21.4m 9-litre cases in 2016, which is an increase of 8% from 2015 – making it five times larger than Gordon’s gin of Diageo in second place.

The fastest growing gin brand is Tanqueray, also owned by Diageo, which saw a sales increase of 25% in 2016 leaving it fourth overall.

There are only six members of the Millionaires’ Club from the gin category in 2017, but the overall sales of gin continues to boom alongside consumers’ thirst for craft gins.
