Havana Club posts double-digit growth

04 March, 2011

Havana Club grew by 15% in 2010, following strong performances in Cuba, Germany, France and the UK.

The recently released financial results for 2010 reveal that the Cuban rum brand achieved double-digit growth in more than 50 countries.

Last year Havana Club was sold in 125 countries worldwide, delivering total sales volume of 3.77m nine litre cases.

Marc Beuve-Méry, managing director of Havana Club International said: “Following the challenges of 2009, including a tough economic climate and supply issues in Cuba, we focused our investment on impactful marketing activity in 2010, such as the ‘Nothing Compares to Havana’ advertising campaign, to dial up the message that Havana Club is the authentic Cuban rum.”

The campaign was implemented in a number of the brand’s key markets in 2010, including Germany, Italy, Chile, Greece and the UK.
