Gin brand launches crowdfunder to save lives

28 April, 2017

One Drinks has launched a crowdfunder campaign for its new sage craft gin which will be the brand’s first move into the spirits industry.

The London-based brand donates its profits to water projects in the world’s poorest communities and has launched One Gin to continue growth.

One Gin’s master distiller, Sarah Thompson, uses nine botanicals from around the world plus British sage and the gin is distilled in an alembic copper still and filtered seven times.

Duncan Goose, founder of One Drinks, said: “Adding sage lends One Gin a unique and quintessentially British flavour and we’re excited to launch our first spirit at a time when craft gin is so incredibly popular.

“In 2016 annual gin sales in the UK totalled over £1bn, enough to make 1.12bn gin and tonics and we are keen to harness some of this growing industry’s profit for a very worthy cause.”

Founded in 2005, One has raised more than £15 million and the brand claims to have changed the lives of more than 3 million people across the globe by enabling access to clean water.

Goose added: “There are still 663 million people around the world without access to clean water. This has to change. Our vision is a world where everyone has access to clean water forever. This new spirit joins our strong spirit in pursuit of this important goal.”
