Peterson wins Shanghai Shake by Camus

10 September, 2019

Jesse Peterson from the Raised By Wolves bar in San Diego has been crowned winner of the Shanghai Shake by Camus cocktail competition.

The competitors were tasked with revisiting classic cocktails to create a new recipe using a cognac from the Camus range.

More than 100 bartenders from around the world entered the competition and for winning the global final, Peterson received €5,000.

During two months of activation in April and May of this year, bartenders were invited to post their cocktails on social media and promote them in their bar.

Eight bartenders from Shanghai, Chengdu, New York, Los Angeles, Paris and Moscow were then selected to be judged in June and July 2019, based on the quality of their drink and promotional efforts before six were selected to take part in the global final in Shanghai in September.

Alexey Belik from Dictatura Æstetica in Moscow came second ahead of Colin Li from Limited Edition SIP Bar in Chengdu, who completed the podium.

“Our relentless drive for the utmost refinement has brought us to create Shanghai Shake,” said Cyril Camus.

“We wanted to put our passion and our continuous quest for the highest aromatic intensity of our cognacs at the service of talented cocktail creators, to inspire them and to feed their curiosity for unique products.”
