Dead Rabbit takes Tales' top prize

21 July, 2015

Tales of the Cocktail’s has named New York’s Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog World’s Best Cocktail Bar at its annual Spirited Awards in New Orleans.

Winning Best International Cocktail Bar was the bar’s great London rival Artesian.

In a reverse of fortune, the 2014 edition of The World’s 50 Best Bars list saw Artesian beat Dead Rabbit to its no.1 prize. Drinks International’s 2015 list is released in October.

On winning the Tales title Sean Muldoon, co-owner of the bar said: "For five years all I've been thinking about is winning this award. So finally, after five years, I can go to sleep now. Thank you."

It was a good year for London at the Spirited Awards as International Bartender of the Year was won by Ryan Chetiyawardana of White Lyan and Danelyan - which won Best New International Cocktail Bar.

Beaufort Bar at the Savoy took Best Hotel Bar and Best International Restaurant Bar went to Blind Pig at Social Eating House.

Staffing crisis could open opportunities
