International Beer Challenge 2013 launches

22 March, 2013

Entries are now open for this year’s International Beer Challenge, which is organised by Drinks International's sister title Off Licence News.

Producers have until May 17 to make their submissions, which will be judged by a panel of expert judges chaired by Jeff Evans, the former editor of the Good Beer Guide.

The competition is now in its 17th year and has consistently rewarded and championed excellence in brewing.

Last year producers from 26 different countries – from brewing heartlands to upcoming nations – entered hundreds of lagers, ales, stouts and speciality beers.

Judges from across Europe include retailers, importers, publicans, brewers, writers and flavour analysts.

They study each beer in turn, considering the appearance, aroma, taste and finish and last year awarded 178 bronze medals, 95 silvers and 30 gold medals, before overall trophy winners were decided.
