BBRS adds Pink Pigeon rum to portfolio

26 November, 2010

Berry Bros & Rudd Spirits (BBRS) has added a rum brand to its spirits portfolio.

The company has entered into a joint venture with Mauritius-based Medine Distillery, which produces the vanilla spiced rum Pink Pigeon.

BBRS held the official European launch in Monaco in November and BBRS chief executive Jeremy Parsons said the brand would roll out to key Asian cities as well as Spain, UK and US – Barcelona, London and San Francisco in particular.

Earlier in 2010, BBRS formed a strategic partnership with Anchor Brewers and Distillers, based in San Francisco.

Parsons said of the Anchor deal: “By aligning with Anchor Brewers & Distillers we’ve found the ideal partner to share our new spirits brands within the US market.

“This investment will enable Berry Bros. & Rudd Spirits to grow our premium spirits brands and, ultimately, to connect with a rapidly growing audience with a demonstrated affinity for our hand-crafted spirits.”

Pink Pigeon rum is named after an endangered Mauritian bird.
