06 May, 2014

Berry Bros. & Rudd Spirits has appointed Marussia Beverages RUS to distribute The Glenrothes Speyside Single Malt scotch whisky, No. 3 London Dry gin, The King’s Ginger liqueur and Pink Pigeon Mauritian rum from June 1.

BBRS sales director Peter Davie said: “We would like to thank Moscow Business Group (MBG) for their hard work in building our brands in this increasingly important market but it now makes strategic sense for us to have all our brands in one place.”

“Sales of The Glenrothes in Russia have grown by 140% in the last three years and, according to Canadean, the market is expected to double in the next five years and The Glenrothes is well placed to benefit from this strong growth in the hands of the Marussia team. While the market is less well developed for gin, the opportunities at the super premium level for No.3 are exciting,” he said.

Dmitry Kalinin of MBG adds; “It has been a great pleasure to represent the brands of the world’s oldest wine and spirits merchant. We will look back on our success with The Glenrothes in particular with enormous pride.”

Dutch-based international distribution company Marussia Beverages established Marussia Beverages RUS was established in 2008.

Marussia Beverages CEO Etienne De Salins said: “This is an important addition to our portfolio of rare and wonderful artisan spirits. I look forward to working on developing these excellent premium brands in Russia.”
