Kleine Zalze takes to US skies

22 June, 2009

South African wine Kleine Zalze has secured a listing on American Delta Airlines.

The 12 month contract will commence in the last quarter of 2009. Sales and marketing manager Ross Sleet said he hoped the deal would be a way to penetrate the American market.

He said: “Airlines are a fantastic brand-building opportunity. They have to be very strict with their wine selection, it’s not like they have a cellar in the sky. It keeps you honest – and they chose us which is a massive boost.

“We hope this will be a way into the US market, where we currently have no presence.”

Kleine Zalze will supply 80-100,000 bottles over the course of 2009/10.
