We might as well call the brandy category the cognac category. 

Rémy Cointreau has reported organic sales value dropped 5.6% and operating profit dropped 14.6% for the six months ended September 30.

The BNIA (Bureau National Interprofessionnel de l’Armagnac) has launched a programme to educate drinks professionals about France’s oldest spirit.

Bisquit Cognac is opening the doors of its château for the first time to the public to celebrate France’s national heritage weekend (Journées Européennes du Patrimoine).

Emperador brandy from the Philippines was the best selling brandy in the world in 2012, selling over five times that of global Cognac brands Hennessy, Martell, Remy Martin and Courvoisier.

It’s ‘up periscope’ for Irish distilleries

I know how wierd this might seem but I often think that the opening of a new distillery is like the launch of a new submarine. It is unveiled in all its pristine glory in a blaze of publicity and fanfare.
