Sykes showcased her cocktail at the UK final at Restaurant Ours, London, which consisted of Patrón Silver tequila, Martini Riserva Speciale Ambrato, pickled dry crab apple reduction, coriander seed soda and finished with a lime zest spray.
“The whole journey has been incredible and it has been great learning more about Patrón, as what they do and how they work is so different and unique,” said Sykes.
As part of the prize, Sykes will travel to Hacienda Patrón in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, where she will represent the UK against 19 other finalists from 19 countries at the Global Semi-Finals.
If Sykes is successful, she will reach the 2018 Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition Global Final the following day on 24 January 2019.
Sykes added: “It has been my dream to visit Mexico for years and I am so excited to visit Hacienda Patrón to represent my country in a global competition. It’s the peak of my career.”
