Ocho to release two tequilas for 10th anniversary

04 July, 2018

Tequila Ocho is preparing to release two limited edition tequilas inline with its 10th anniversary.

Founded a decade ago by Tomas Estes and Carlos Camarena, Tequila Ocho was the first single-estate, single-field tequila on the market and now it will be releasing two more expressions.

The first tequila, set to be released at the end of 2018, will be aged for eight years and eight months in American whiskey barrels, making it the oldest tequila ever created by the brand.

Ocho will also be releasing its first ever rum and cognac cask finishes in collaboration with Plantation Rum and Ferrand Cognac, also due for release in 2018.

“When Ocho first hit the market in 2008 I felt there was something special, something magical about it,” said Estes.

“Now 10 years on the feeling has fully arrived. The magic has to do with the intention in and around the fabric of Ocho. Along the way pride, passion and respect have shown to be the mantle of Ocho, and I believe people interacting with the brand can feel this.”

Over the past 10 years the brand has released 19 different single-field harvest tequilas and Ocho was first designed primarily to highlight the flavour of agave. The tequila is 100% additive free, using only blue agave, water and natural yeast in its production.
