Codorníu Raventós announces new UK MD

17 October, 2016

Matteo d’Imporzano has been appointed managing director of Codorníu in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Holding a PhD in Public Relations and specialised in marketing and MBA from ESADE, D’Imporzano started out his career as product manager at Pernod Ricard Italy, managing brands such as Ballantine’s, Glen Grant and Jacob’s Creek, among others.

In January 2006 he moved to Dublin, Ireland, where he joined the  Irish Distillers division of Pernod Ricard and became global brand manager of Jameson Irish whiskey.

In February 2009 he joined the Codorníu Raventós group as Pproduct marketing manager in charge of developing the company’s global wines portfolio and since then he has held various posts inside the winemaking group.

In March 2014 he continued his career inside the international commercial department as key account and sales area manager in charge of the Benelux and southern Europe sales areas. In January 2015 he was appointed central Europe on-trade sales director.

After seven years at the Barcelona headquarters, d’Imporzano has come to the UK with the mission of implementing the Codorníu Raventós group’s 2015-2020 strategy: to position the company and its brands Anna de Codorníu and Viña Pomal in the country, as well as to continue to build the 'premium' business on an international level.
