30 October, 2014

Spirit France, leading producer of Calvados with the brands Père Magloire, Boulard and Lecompte, has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Armagnac brand: Janneau.

Janneau is one of the oldest houses in Armagnac, founded in 1851. It has one of the most important production plant and storage facility in the Armagnac region carrying out distillation, ageing and bottling of its production only in the region of Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée.

Janneau claims to offer a range of unique premium Armagnac, thanks to its all-vintage stocks, and the use of the double distillation method.

The Spirit France group says it specialises in premium spirits and developing brands in niches of the premium spirit markets. Through its subsidiary Spirit France, the group’s holding Spirit Capital claims to be the world-leading producer and distributor of Calvados and now, of one of the top three leading brands of Armagnac.
