Berrys launches Penny Blue rum

03 October, 2013

Berry Bros & Rudd Spirits has launched a single estate XO aged rum from Mauritius, called Penny Blue.

Named after one of the world’s rarest stamps, Penny Blue is non chill filtered and 44.1% abv. It will retail for Euros 50, US$80 and £40.

There are 5,945 bottles with 3,000 allocated to the US, 900 to France and 500 to the UK. The rest will go to whichever market takes to the balanced, elegant, ground-breaking rum.

It comes from the Medine Distillery and was blended by BBRS’s master blender, Doug McIvor who used rums aged in whisky and Cognac barrels.
