Riedel and Gaja celebrate 40th anniversary

Georg Riedel and Angelo Gaja – two famous names in the wine world – are celebrating the 40th anniversary of Riedel’s Sommeliers collection in London in September.

The Sommeliers collection is Riedel’s signature range. The range, launched in 1973, represented a significant development in stemware design following Claus Riedel’s work in the creation of the world’s first ever glasses that complement different wines.

Georg J Riedel is the 10th generation glassmaker and owner of Riedel Crystal. Angelo Gaja, 4th generation owner of Gaja Winery and one of Italy’s greatest winemakers. They have chosen the wines for the celebratory evening; Gaia & Rey 2009, Ca Marcanda 2008 and Gaja Sperss 2004.

The tasting will take place on September 12 at Vinopolis in London. VIP tickets include a Sommeliers glass set worth £315 to take home, these tickets are priced from £160 per person. The standard ticket is priced from £110 per person and includes a Vinum XL set to take home, worth £82.50.
