France/US: Martell Cognac has releases a special edition L'Or de Jean Martell Cognac.

L’Or de Jean Martell features a double distillation of eau-de-vie, a combination of Grand Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fins Bois and Borderies and a lengthy maturation in fine-grain oak barrels.

Larry Neuringer, brand director of Martell, Pernod Ricard US said: "L'Or de Jean Martell is truly the ultimate expression of the House of Martell and a testament to Jean Martell whose founding principles are based on the pursuit of perfection.”

L'Or is a blend of several hundred eau-de-vie, some of which have aged for more than a century. These secret cellars, rechristened the "Chai Jean Martell" or Jean Martell Cellars, hold spirits dating back to 1830.

The Cognac bottle is a hand-blown tear drop-shaped decanter made of Cristal de Sevres.

Martell L'Or de Jean Martell will be available in the US in very limited quantity (120 bottles) beginning in April 2009. The Cognac will carry a suggested retail price of $3,600 per bottle.
