Sweden: Nordic Spirits launches super-premium vodka

02 October, 2009

Swedish company Nordic Spirit has launched a super-premium vodka.

DQ – meaning ‘Distillation Intelligence’ – is distilled in Malmkoping, Sweden.

The vodka contains Swedish winter wheat and Swedish spring water.

The product retails at £50 and Nordic suggests serving the spirit neat.

The company is in the process of launching the vodka in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany.

Co-founder and director Petter Moe said: “We also have Brazilian shareholders and we have launched the product there. During 2010, DQ will become available in Canada, US and some Asian markets.”

Moe said he wants the product to appear in both the on and off trade, but at very select outlets.

The company isn’t predicting annual case sales but Moe said the bottling plant has a capacity of 2 million bottles per year.
