Rick house collapses in Kentucky

25 June, 2018

A rick house in Bardstown Kentucky partly collapsed on 22 June leaving around 9,000 barrels of bourbon in ruins.

The rick house, belonging to Barton 1792 Distillery was in the process of having a wall replaced when the structure failed causing no injuries or fatalities.

It is unclear whether the whiskey has escaped the spilled barrels and a team of representatives from the state's Department for Environmental Protection were dispatched to the scene to investigate a nearby stream.

According to a report by CNN, tests on the local water supply came back clean.

As the name suggests, we’ve used hazel wood as the hero of this edition alongside other familiar, native broadleaf trees, including silver birch and oak from our own forest.
