London Cocktail Week - bigger, better

31 July, 2015

London Cocktail Week organisers have announced that it will be moving to a new, bigger hub in London’s Soho.

Also, it will be taking a week-long residency in Old Spitalfields Market, transforming the 1,200 square metre market into what it describes as a “huge cocktail village”.

LCW festival director Siobhan Payne said: “Having hit record numbers in 2014 with more than 22,000 guests attending the festival, we knew that London Cocktail Week was ready to move to an ever bigger home. The London Cocktail Week Village in Old Spitalfields Market and the much bigger world class London Cocktail Week hub in Soho is definitely going to take the festival to that next level”.

Payne says within the LCW village at Old Spitalfields Market, a maze of bespoke pop-up bars, trucks, vans and even bicycles will be serving up their specially created cocktails at just £5 for wristband wearers. From vodka tipples to fruit liqueurs and pick-me-ups, the market will be “heady explosion” of the best drinks in London.

Visitors will be treated to the scent of  meats and spices wafting from street food stalls. In the heart of this covered market will be stage of live music, pumping out music.

In the heart of the West End, will be the hub of London Cocktail Week. Located at 51 Poland Street, W1F 7RJ, the organisers promises a true highlight of the week’s activities. Visitors can pick up  a wristband (£10, available now at: LondonCocktailWeek.com) and free pocket bar guide and  roam from one bar to another. There will be parties, master classes and especially created cocktails for £5 to wristband wearers.

Not forgetting  Drinks International’s very own ‘The World’s 50 Best Bars’ awards ceremony on Thursday October 8.
