US: Chris Brown appointed to Zing vodka role

01 July, 2013

A US vodka brand has appointed music star Chris Brown as its creative director.

Maloof Ventures has appointed the R&B singer, who is currently facing hit and run charges and is still on probation for attacking his on-off girlfriend, singer Rihanna in 2009, as creative director for its Zing vodka.

According to Steve Ferraro, co-founder of brand owner Maloof Ventures, Brown’s ability to influence popular culture was a draw for the company.

He told Drinks International: “Chris Brown is an innovator. He has repeatedly proven his ability to create content that influences and moves pop culture. His understanding of lifestyle and extraordinary creative vision provide exciting opportunities for Zing to utilize in its efforts. Being that Zing is already a forward thinking brand with its unique packaging and flavour, we felt Chris was the right fit.”

The vodka is available in “select retailers in limited markets” throughout the US, priced $24.99. It also comes in Red Velvet cake flavour.

The Real Housewives of Beverley Hills star Adrienne Maloof is part of the Maloof Ventures family and she advertises the vodka on her website, alongside shoes, phone cases and handbags.
