Glenfarclas 105 limited edition launches

14 August, 2012

The Grant family has released a new limited edition of its 20-year old Glenfarclas 105 single malt.

Previoulsy produced over three generations from 1968-2008, the latest 105 expression numbers just 4,000 bottles worldwide.

Named because the first bottling of the expression was at cask strength of ‘105 British Proof’ (60% abv on today’s scale), the 2012 bottling costs £200 per 70cl bottle.

George Grant, sales director and sixth generation family member, described the whisky as having “a very typical Glenfarclas nose of demerara sugars and figs” and likened the palate to "Christmas cake, chocolate, coffee and fruit”.
