Master of Malt launches “world’s oldest liqueur”

04 May, 2011

Online whisky retailer Master of Malt has launched a 40-year old whisky liqueur.

The web company, which also bottles its own whisky, claims the expression is the world’s oldest liqueur.

The 40-year old is priced at £219.95 per bottle and joins Master of Malt’s range of single malt Speyside whisky liqueurs, which includes 10,15,21 and 30-year old expressions.

Master of Malt’s sales director Ben Ellefsen said: “This is a liqueur for single malt connoisseurs, so we spent an incredible amount of time picking subtle flavours which highlighted the malt, rather than creating something that was just sweet and overpowering.

“We’ve used top quality, authentic ingredients including cinnamon bark, cloves and orange peel, and we couldn’t be more proud of the results.”

Trade shows – remember them? Before the world stopped we’d have attended a number of them throughout the year and be able to look down the list of recognisable guest speakers with their seminar titles. They were a source of great education which had been curated by the organisers to provide a spread of credible, engaging information.
