London Cocktail Week begins

11 October, 2010

The inaugural London Cocktail Week (LCW) has begun - a seven-day event of shows, pop-up bars, parties, classes and tastings.

Running until October 17, LCW is aimed at encouraging amateurs and professional bartenders to “try new things, learn new skills and ultimately, drink better”.

The schedule kicks off with the Bartender’s Bloody Mary Breakfast and culminates on Saturday and Sunday with RumFest – two days dedicated to rum tastings, seminars and master classes.

Organisers have scheduled the ticketed events in five areas across London between 9am and 9pm, and anticipate that over 5,000 people will attend.

Those signed up for wristbands will be eligible for discounted cocktails at the events 50 ‘best’ London bars and can travel for free on LCW-chartered Routemaster bus tours.

LCW is the concept of Simon Difford, editor of Class magazine.
