30 July, 2009

UK: The Bartenders’ Guild has appointed a new president. Daniel Crebesse of London’s Milestone Hotel will take over from Salvatore Calabrese.

The new vice-president is Luca Cordiglieri, who has been the London area manager for the past few years.

Luca Cordiglieri will remain the London area chairman until a replacement can be appointed.

Daniel Crebesse, aged 52, has been a member of the UKBG for the past 17 years, with the past five years spent as vice-president. He was London area chairman for six years prior to that.

Crebesse hopes to encourage new members to join the Guild, particularly in the North and he Scotland. He also hopes to create a new Midlands area.

He said: “One of my aims is to further develop the education side of the bartending business through the Guild, and to promote drink awareness. All of the bartenders in the Guild are already very aware of the need to make sure they serve their customers responsibly.”
