Jim Beam $60m distillery begins construction

21 August, 2019

Beam Suntory is investing $60 to build a new distillery at its existing operations in Clermont, Kentucky.

The new facility will be called the Fred B. Noe Craft Distillery, named after the seventh-generation Jim Beam master distiller.

Construction has already begun at the site just south of Louisville and it will be home to the production of Booker’s, Baker’s and Little Book and will be used to experiment with new fermentation and distilling techniques.

Freddie Noe, eighth-generation Beam master distiller, said: “Now I can’t think of anyone who’s set up the future of bourbon any better than my dad, so I can hardly begin to express my pride in naming this new distillery after him.”

The investment also includes the development of visitor tours of the Jim Beam brands and a new tasting room.
