Glendalough to launch all-seasons gin

03 February, 2017

Glendalough, a seasonal gin-maker from Ireland, will release an “all-seasons” expression called Glendalough Wild Botanical Gin to the UK later this month.

Glendalough distillery, located in the Glendalough valley in County Wicklow on the east coast of Ireland, ordinarily produces gins to represent each season, but has responded to bartender demand to create a year-round product.

Glendalough Wild Botanical Gin, 41% abv, is said to be built on a base of classic gin botanicals alongside wild botanicals from the Glendalough valley.

The gin “starts with spring-like notes on the nose, distinctly juniper and citrus tones, before moving through to summer flowers, then autumn fruits before finally resting on winter spice”.

The botanicals used in the new gin are: Juniper, Coriander, Angelica Root, Orris Root, Liquorice Root, Liquorice Bark, Fresh Organic Lemons, Elderflower, Red Clover Flower, Yarrow, Ox, Eye Daisy, Wild Raspberry, Blackberry Leaves, Wild Rose, Watermint, Sweet Woodruff, Wild Angelica, Lemon Balm, Sweet Cicely, Lady’s Bedstraw, Bell Heather.
