Made by the Hot Enough Vodka Company, the £31.95, 40% abv vodka (50cl) is the second release and follows 100,000 Scovilles – Naga Chilli Vodka.
The Scovillle Scale is the measurement of heat or spiciness in chillies.
Like its precursor, 250,000 Scovilles comes with a skull-and-crossbones-embossed lead security seal and disclaimer on the label.
The vodka is infused with Naga Jolokia chillies for a period of two weeks until it has assumed a deep hue.
According to Master of Malt, Naga Jolokia chillies are the spiciest chillies in the world and, in their dried form, can be hotter than many pepper sprays.
A statement from the retailer said: “Naga Jolokia chillies can exceed 1,000,000 Scovilles while Jalapeño peppers rank at about 5,000 Scovilles - this gives some indication as to the level of heat in 250,000 Scovilles Naga Chilli Vodka.
“Master of Malt urges customers to use this vodka sparingly, if at all, to add spice to cocktails. Under no circumstances should it be consumed neat or as a shot.”
