Absolut introduces freeze-distilled vodka

24 July, 2012

The Absolut Company, part of Pernod Ricard, has relaunched Frïs (pronounced “freeze”), which it claims is the world’s only freeze-distilled vodka.

While most vodkas use heat to remove impurities, Frïs is chilled to -10C (14 F). The process is said to allow impurities to be frozen and extracted. The result is described as a “smooth, dynamic vodka that captures the spirit of Scandinavia”.

Frïs is also to launch in three new flavours – Orange Freeze and Citrus Freeze - available beginning in September and Frïs Whipped Freeze, to be introduced in 2013. Frïs vodka will be available in 375ml, 750ml, 1 litre and 1.75 litre sizes with a suggested retail price of $10.99/750ml; $19.99/1.75 litre.
