Disaronno starts search for Mixing Star

23 March, 2012

Disaronno is on the lookout for bartenders for the return of its international bartender competition, Disaronno Mixing Star.

Bartenders can apply by entering a cocktail recipe that demonstrates Disaronno’s versatility and ‘mixability’ to www.themixingstar.com by April 15.

The winner will be awarded a trip to Mumbai to take part in a Bollywood production and will also be appointed to the Disaronno Hall of Fame.

National heats will take place around Europe from May 4 to June 8, where selected bartenders will be asked to show their signature cocktail plus a classic Disaronno Sour.

In the UK two bartenders will be chosen from heats that will take place in London on May 21 and Manchester May 28.

At the July 5 final in Berlin, bartenders will compete for the titles of the Disaronno Mixing Star and creator of the “best Disaronno signature cocktail”.

Will Thompson, brand manager at First Drinks, the brand’s UK distributor, said: “Mixing Star provides Disaronno with the perfect opportunity to engage with professional bartenders, demonstrating the brand’s quality, style and versatility across a wide variety of cocktail occasions.

“With Disaronno continuing to perform strongly in the UK on-trade, it is important to give recognition to bartenders who have supported the brand and showcase their talent.”
