Proximo and Marblehead strike distribution deal

01 November, 2010

US spirits company Proximo has entered into a UK distribution agreement with Marblehead Brand Development.

Marblehead will develop Proximo brands Maestro Dobel tequila, Hangar One vodka and The Kraken black spiced rum – a 2010 gold medal winner in the Design & Packaging section of Drinks International’s International Spirits Challenge.

Dave Steward, business development director at Marblehead, said: “Proximo is an exciting, innovative and genuinely pioneering company, with some outstanding brands. We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with them in what will be their first European export market.”

Marblehead has previously developed and distributed brands such as Absolut, Makers Mark, Wyborowa and is currently the UK agent for Zubrowka Bison Grass vodka and Lillet.

Bryan Fox, export director at Proximo, said: “Marblehead’s track record speaks for itself. Their depth of knowledge and company culture makes us confident that they are the right partner to take our brands into the UK.”

Proximo, a family owned New York-based company, was launched in 2007. Its portfolio also includes 1800 tequila and Three Olives vodka.
