Molson Coors appoints new marketing boss

UK: Molson Coors has appointed a new marketing director.

Chris McDonough, currently marketing and R&D director and Ireland general manager on the Muller UK board, will be joining Molson Coors (UK) as marketing director from June 2010.

McDonough has held a marketing controller role at Bacardi Martini, has over 10 years of experience at Mars across numerous UK and European brand roles and spent five years at Muller.

Mark Hunter, CEO, said: “Filling one off the highest profile marketing roles in the UK was never going to be easy but after an extensive international search we knew we had found the right person and are delighted to welcome someone of Chris’ calibre to join the UK board.”

Chris McDonough said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining a company with the international pedigree of Molson Coors.  With a leadership team so committed to building people and brands it represents another exciting opportunity for me in my career.”

David Preston, currently interim marketing director, is appointed to the newly created role of director of commercial innovation reporting to McDonough.

Molson Coors (UK) have also recently acquired two new leading beer brands, Cobra and Singha. Its existing brands include Carling, Grolsch and Coors Light.
