Churchill Bar to launch Cuban-themed terrace

29 April, 2019

Churchill Bar & Terrace in London has announced the launch of a new Cuban theme for its terrace called ‘Casa de Cuba’ from Wednesday 15 May.

The new seasonal spring/summer terrace has been inspired by Sir Winston Churchill’s travels to Cuba which first took place in 1895 to observe the Cuban Independence War.

The Cuban terrace will have a new cocktail menu led by head bartender Daniele Bresciani and his team, as well as Cuban food specialties including a classic Cubanito sandwich, fried plantain and huevo habanero.

Bar manager, Eve Vasileiadou said: “Our new menu brings classic favourites with our own twist and promises a summer of tropical fun. We invite guests to escape the city at Churchill’s ‘Casa de Cuba’ and feel transported to this Caribbean gem”.

One of the new drinks, ‘Baptism of Fire’, uses Zacapa 23, banana and chilli shrub, guava and lime juice, port, cedar essence and angostura bitters.

The ‘New Cuban’ is an interpretation of the Old Cuban cocktail from New York, which is a twist on the Mojito with added Pol Roger - Churchill’s favourite champagne and a member of Drinks International’s World’s Most Admired Champagne Brands.

The Churchill Bar & Terrace at Hyatt Regency London sits just off Oxford Street and has featured in several shortlists at Class Bar Awards.
