The brewery, which is entering the canning category for the first time, intends to export more 100,000 cans of English Ale to Canada over the next year.
Working with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), the first cans will be shipped out in March and sold through their retail and distribution network in the province.
“The LCBO is one of the world's largest purchasers of alcoholic beverages and we're incredibly pleased to be working with them on the launch of our new English Ale cans,” said Ryan Crisp, export manager at St Peter's Brewery.
“We have worked very hard to get the packaging design just right for the Canadian market and our new English Ale cans have strong British branding and a very eye-catching design, which we hope will prove very popular with Canadian consumers.
St Peter's Brewery derives almost 50% of its overall sales through export.
Crisp added: “As a small brewery we can be very adaptable and react quickly to market trends. We've pitched this product to Canada specifically as it sells a high number of canned beers. However, we can also work with other countries to create products that suit their needs and their market.”
