The company reports: “As the 2015 harvest approaches, it is becoming clear we were correct in our anticipation that this will be one of the best harvests in recent years. It has been a favorable year in terms of climate, characterised by a regular pattern of temperate weather until early summer.
“Since the second half of July, the area has been under a heat wave which initially created some apprehension, but the rains of these last days have brought things back to normal helping to make the harvest, both from the point of view of quality and quantity in line with the yields expected by the procedural guideline.”
Family winemaker Francesca Follador said: “We are right on the doorstep of harvest. Within the next several days we will be heading into the vineyards to bring in the grapes once it is determined they are at perfect ripeness, probably in mid-September. Thanks to favorable weather conditions the quality of the grapes is excellent; good-looking golden and ripe berries with a fruity bouquet of yellow apple, peach and pear. The only thing we need to do is begin picking at the ideal moment to bring out the best from the fruits of this fabulous 2015 vintage.”
“It promises to be an incredibly satisfying harvest which is very exciting for the Follador team who continues to improve upon what nature offers year after year. It is another proud moment communicating once again to the market the stability and continuity that Prosecco DOCG Superiore Valdobbiadene has brought throughout its long production history.”
