Piper-Heidsieck 2006 unveiled in London

31 October, 2013

Piper-Heidsieck unveiled its 2006 vintage to the UK market yesterday.

The Champagne brand’s first vintage since 2004 has also launched worldwide, including in France, Italy, Holland, Japan, Belgium, Australia and the US.

The bottle has a suggested price of £49.99 and will be available in high-end on-trade accounts and prestige retail, such as Harrods.

The brand’s Chef de Caves, Regis Camus, told Drinks International at the launch event at Rib Room Bar & Restaurant, Jumeirah Carlton Tower, that the new vintage was “more elegant, charming and generous” than the 2004.

It is made from 49% Pinot Noir and 51% Chardonnay grapes from 17 Grand and Premier Cru; the wine was "in cellar for 6-7 years".
