The former chairman of baijiu giant Kweichow Moutai has been sentenced to life in prison for taking 112.9 million yuan ($17.5 million) in bribes.

The world’s most valuable alcoholic drinks brands could lose up to US$33bn worth of brand value as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to brand valuation company Brand Finance.

Leaders of the Chinese baijiu market: Moutai, Wuliangye, and Yanghe are the world’s most valuable spirits brands, according to the latest report by Brand Finance, an independent brand valuation and strategy consultancy.
