Bailey Pryor, founder of The Real McCoy Rum which is produced at Foursquare Distillery in Barbados, has voiced concerns over opposition to Barbadian rum Geographic Indication proposals.

The West Indies Rum Distillery has appealed the implementing of a Geographical Indication for Barbados rum which was put forward by Mount Gay, Foursquare and Saint Nicholas Abbey.

UK Rumfest has announced the winners of the Golden Rum Barrel Awards 2011, with Foursquare Distillery of Barbados taking home two of the top prizes.
