Australia: Kirrihill Wines and Cheviot Bridge plan to extend their partnership to assume shared sales and marketing from 1 April.

Kirrihill will also release two new wines in 2009 – the Clare Valley Shiraz and Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Cheviot Bridge will take over distribution on the Australian Eastern Seaboard as of April 1, while Wine Savvy and Chace Agencies will continue to distribute Kirrihill in Western Australia and South Australia respectively.

Maurice Dean, managing director, Cheviot Bridge said: “This transition is a logical step in the development of both businesses, given the close corporate links and shareholder commonality. It can only strengthen us both by utilizing our synergies and the expertise of fellow shareholders to gain greater efficiencies and enable Kirrihill to focus on viticulture and winemaking.”

Both companies released their first wines in 2000.

Kirrihill is supported by vineyard resources from the Edwards and Stanway family-owned and managed vineyards in the Clare Valley and Adelaide Hills and Kirrihill’s winery facilities.
