Anheuser-Busch InBev has announced 1,400 job cuts. As part of its plans to effectively integrate Anheuser-Busch, the U.S. business unit plans to cut approximately 1,400 U.S. salaried positions in its beer-related divisions, affecting about 6 percent of the company's total U.S. workforce.The brewer said about 75% of the cuts would come at the St. Louis headquarters and downtown offices. In other locations, 250 open positions will not be filled and 415 contractor jobs will be phased out. A-B InBev said the cuts would save them company $1.5 billion a year by 2011 and help cope with a "challenging economy."
A-B president David Peacock said: "To keep the business strong and competitive, this is a necessary but difficult move for the company."Last month, InBev paid $52billion for the Budweiser brewer Anheuser-Busch.
