07 January, 2010

US: Glazer’s has acquired two beer distributors.

The distribution company has completed the acquisition of Harbor Distributing, the Miller Coors distributorship in Little Rock, Arkansas, and G & G Distributing in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Harbor is a three million case beer and non-alcoholic distributor, and services a two county area in Arkansas. G & G Distributing is a two million case beer and non-alcoholic beverage distributor in the Shreveport-Bossier City marketing area.

Glazer’s executive vice president/CEO Mike Maxwell said: “We are excited by the prospects of our latest acquisitions, which is part of our overall corporate beer strategy to seek opportunities to expand our footprint. Both Harbor and G & G have long histories in the market for brand building excellence and customer service. Harbor and G& G’s operations will continue to be run as stand-alone companies in their markets.”

Glazer’s president Jerry Cargill said, “These two strategic acquisitions for Glazer’s are an

indicator of our commitment to sustained long term growth in the industry, and our

appetite to be considered for expansion. With these acquisitions, Glazer’s is now a 20

million case beer distributor.”

Glazer’s currently operates in 11 states. The company has operations in Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Texas.
