Organic wine consumption is expected to increase by more than 50% in the UK by 2022, according to research carried out by IWSR.

The study – The Future Potential for Organic Wine – was commissioned by Sudvinbio and showed that organic wine is continuing to take shares from the non-organic market, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate of more than 11% between 2012-2017.

Organic wine consumption when studied in isolation has seen growth of 70% over the past five years, up from 3.36m 9-L cases in 2012 to 5.72m 9-L cases in 2017.

Looking ahead, market share is forecast to almost double from 5% currently to 9% in 2022.
