Deglise to leave Vinexpo

05 April, 2018

Vinexpo has announced its chief executive, Guillaume Deglise will leave the company after the Hong Kong exhibition, which closes on May 31.

The Bordeaux-Gironde Chamber of Commerce says Deglise will be “embracing new career projects after he successfully fulfilled the goals that were commonly defined when he joined Vinexpo”.

Deglise started his career in champagne, before being appointed chief executive of Vinexpo in 2013. Under his leadership, the company undertook the recovery of its flagship Vinexpo Bordeaux and the development of Vinexpo Hong Kong, the leading wine and spirits event in Asia-Pacific.

He also launched new exhibitions in Tokyo (2014), New York (2018) and Paris (scheduled in 2020) as well as Vinexpo Explorer, a business convention concept in the vineyards.

Patrick Seguin, president of Vinexpo’s executive board and chairman of the Bordeaux-Gironde Chamber of Commerce, said: “We salute Guillaume Deglise’s guidance and professionalism. He managed to develop the brand Vinexpo in a highly competitive sector. We wish him success in his future endeavours.”

Deglise said he plans to continue his career in the wine and spirits industry. He said: “Having the chance to be in daily contact with winemakers, traders and buyers has been a very rewarding experience for me. I want to thank Vinexpo’s customers and partners for their confidence and support, and the Team Vinexpo that I am honoured to lead.”
