Halewood Wines & Spirits launches super-premium Liverpool Rum

15 December, 2016

Halewood Wines & Spirits has launched a small batch, single cask rum, inspired by the 17th century docks and shipyards of Liverpool.

Liverpool rum is distilled on the island of Trinidad in column stills from sugar-cane molasses. It is aged for 16 years, double matured and then finished in ex-American Bourbon barrels.

It is recommended the dark rum (43% abv) is served neat or over ice. It’s available in a 70cl bottle and retails at £48 in the UK.

A spokesperson at Halewood Wines & Spirits, said: “The launch of Liverpool Rum was inspired by Liverpool’s rich heritage and culture. It celebrates the brand’s super-premium standards, appeals to rum connoisseurs and follows on from the outstanding popularity and success of Liverpool Gin.

“Liverpool Rum is the third spirit to join the expanding collection which includes Liverpool Vodka and three-strong Liverpool Gin variants.”
