Agile Media to re-launch CLASS Magazine

Agile Media will re-launch bartender magazine CLASS this autumn. 

CLASS joins the magazine house's stable of publications: Drinks International, Harpers Wine & Spirit, Off Licence News and Drinks Wholesaler. 

A former favourite of the UK bartender community, CLASS will return on a quarterly basis, under the leadership of editor Hamish Smith, art editor Christine Freeman, brand director Daisy Jones and publisher Justin Smith.

The magazine has been out of print for two years but re-launches with a new design and new team of journalists. 

Smith, who will remain in his roles as deputy editor of Drinks International and editor of The World's 50 Best Bars, said: "It's a great privilege to resurrect this grand old title. Simon Difford launched the magazine in 1997 when the cocktail movement was barely in motion. The industry has dramatically developed since then, in no small part thanks to the role played by CLASS, informing and inspiring the UK bar community. 

"It's hard to keep a good title down and it is our hope here at Agile Media that CLASS will once again become a pillar of the UK bar community. Expect honest reviews of bars and products, straight-talking comment and insightful features from the UK's best drinks writers. Do not expect brand puff."

The CLASS Bar Awards will also be re-launched next year alongside new events which will include the education programme, The CLASS Bar Academy.
