Wm Grant's Abrook to advocate whisky innovation

William Grant & Sons has appointed Kevin Abrook, currently global marketing manager innovation for whisky as its first ever global whisky specialist, innovation.

The family-owned company says this demonstrates the company’s commitment to whisky innovation and to the importance of advocacy.

Abrook will visit markets to inform and educate both trade and consumers about the Grant’s latest innovations. The brands in the portfolio are Kininvie, The Girvan Patent Still and William Grant & Sons’ Rare Cask Reserves. Kevin will officially start his role in September.

Abrook has more than 20 years’ experience in the drinks industry where he has developed a broad knowledge and passion for whisky. His experience as global marketing manager included developing and launching Kininvie Single Malt, the first house release from the distillery since 1990 and The Girvan Patent Still Single Grain scotch whisky; a brand that champions a third category in scotch – single grain and has won gold medals at both the Scotch Whisky Masters and International Spirits Challenge.

Abrook said: “In my new role I will continue this legacy by working to excite, inform and educate people about William Grant & Sons’ latest whisky innovations. I will also be involved in developing brand new whiskies, which is really exciting.”
